MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- More than one hundred Boy Scout leaders from across the Southeast climbed aboard the USS Yorktown Saturday.

The event was designed for leaders to get inspiration, ideas and advice from the program's top commander - Boy Scouts of America National Commissioner Tico Perez.

Perez was joined by Chuck Ezell, BSA Department Manager and Fisher DeBerry, a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

"We know there are a lot of changes and challenges among Boy Scout troops today and we want to be a resource for leaders seeking guidance on how to handle them," said Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette.{} "For more than 25 years we've been the go-to for a fun overnight camping adventure for scouts, and this leadership summit is another way to show troops we're with them through their journey," he added.

The event also included tours of three vessels at Patriots Point, historic aircraft and the Medal of Honor Museum.
