Bracket breakdown for Class 3A football playoffs

CHARLESTON, S.C.(WCIV) -- Everything in the 2013 high school football season now comes down tofilling in blank lines on a bracket.

Last Friday night, teams inClass 1A, 2A, 3A and SCISA kicked off their playoff schedules while 4A schoolswill begin their playoff runs this week. Here is how the teams arepaired in Class 3A for the second week.

3A Upper state games:

Westwood (7-4) heads to Greerafter taking down Woodruff 38-10. Greer (9-2) advanced on a 34-30 win overEmerald.

Clinton will head to Daniel after advancingpast Flora in a 55-35 win. Daniel picked off Pickens in the first round toadvance. Daniel entered the playoffs at 11-0 while Clinton ended their year at 5-6.

Chapman's 28-18 win over ChapinFriday put them into a matchup against Wren, who pulled out a 70-61 win over Greenville to start theirplayoff run. Both teams came into the playoffs with 8-3 records

And in the final game of theUpper state division puts Broome (8-3) at home against Belton-Honea Path (10-1).Last week, Broome advanced with a 30-17 win over Seneca and BHP moved on with a20-14 win over Blue Ridge.

3A Lower state games:

In the Lower state matchups,Hartsville heads to Socastee. The undefeated Socastee Braves moved on afterbeating Hilton Head last week 31-6. Hartsville (10-1) shut out Midland Valley last week.

The 11-0 Hanahan Hawks willplay host to the 9-2 Marlboro County Bulldogs. The Hawks have four shutouts onthe year and have kept their opponents out of the end zone effectively all yearwhile averaging nearly 44 points per game. When the Bulldogs win, they win big,including 50-7 over Cheraw, 46-0 over Lakewoodand 39-0 over Dalington. But when they are in close games, they seem to let itslip. Last week, they beat Swansea,42-14.

Myrtle Beachblanked Berkeleylast week, 35-0 to move into Friday's matchup against Crestwood. Crestwoodoutlasted Brookland-Cayce, 34-20. Crestwood finished their season at 9-2 withwins over 4A Sumter,and winning 5 of their last six games. Myrtle Beach finished at 7-4 and have won 5 of their last sixgames.

In the final matchup, North Myrtle Beach (9-2) heads to Little River, S.C., to takeon Strom Thurmond (10-1). North Myrtle Beachbeat Orangeburg-Wilkinson 52-35 last week to move into the second round. StromThurmond beat Darlington, 35-6.
