CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Cooper River Bridge Run isn't just for adults, kids are also getting in on the fun.
Hampton Park was full of excitement Friday afternoon for the annual kids festival and race.
The event featured races for kids of all ages, with distances ranging from 25 yards to 1 mile.
One of the groups taking part was the Windsor Hill Elementary School Running Club.
Mary Thomas, whose kids go to Windsor Hill, says the club gets students together after school to get ready for the mile run.
"We do some exercises, learn about healthy eating choices, run our mile and get prepared," Thomas said.
While the members of the running club were focused on their race, they were also excited about the all neat activates at the festival.
Those ranged from slides, a petting zoo, pony rides and even a rock climbing tower.
