CHARLESTON, S.C. (CSU) - For three Saturdays this fall, Charleston Southern Football will kick off before anyone else in the country. CSU announced Wednesday that three of its five home games this season will begin at 11 a.m.

The Bucs host Shorter in the home opener on September 7 at 11 a.m., and will also start early on October 5 against North Greenville and in the season finale versus rival Liberty on November 23.

CSU first-year head coach Jamey Chadwell is looking forward to getting an early start on his inaugural season at the helm of the Bucs program.

"We are very excited about the opportunity to play our games at 11 am," Chadwell said. "It gives our team and university great exposure because we will be playing an hour before anyone else begins their games. Secondly, we feel it will increase our support throughout the community by giving fans the chance to watch us early and still have the rest of the afternoon and night to experience our great city."

Charleston Southern Athletic Director Hank Small echoed Chadwell's sentiment.

"Moving our games to 11 a.m. is all about energizing our fan base and getting them more involved so we can create a great game day atmosphere," Small said. "We will be the first game in the country to kick off three times, and that is a unique opportunity for our program."

Charleston Southern opens the 2013 season with a local rivalry game at The Citadel on August 31. The Bucs and Bulldogs will square off in a 6 p.m. kickoff at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
