Cannon Row now fully restored

SULLIVANS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- Four Civil War cannons were returned to their display on Cannon Row at Fort Moultrie on Monday after being stripped down and repainted.The preservation project began in 2012 when Fort Sumter National Monument and Lemon University's Warren Lasch Conservation Center evaluated all 17 cannons at Fort Moultire. The cannons had many layers of deteriorating paint and were repainted with a new paint meant for long term durability.Cannon Row is known as the best display of seacoast artillery from the Confederate Era in the United States. Cannon Row is now fully restored.
