CCSD issues summer feeding program reminder

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - If the warmer weather has youthinking of summer already, you're not alone. The Charleston County SchoolDistrict is using this week as a deadline reminder for its seamless summerfeeding program.

The program provides more than 7,000 free meals for kids allsummer long.

For organizations that want to serve as one of the service hubs,now is the time to apply.

"Real simple process, they give us their site address,how many kids they plan on feeding and then they will pick one of our tenschools where they will pick up food.{}That could be Johns Island, James Island, McClellanville, NorthCharleston, downtown, even West Ashley.{}We have meal preparations all throughout Charleston County," saidJeremy Tunstill, the nutrition services supervisor for CCSD.
