LADSON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A 76-year-old woman who was reported missing Thursday morning was found after taking a CARTA bus to her old home.
Charleston County Sheriff's deputies said 76-year-old Delores Dawson was last seen at her home on Outwood Street in the Woodside Subdivision around 8 a.m.
Witnesses say she left the home just after 8 a.m. on foot.
Officials said Dawson has been diagnosed with the beginning stages of dementia. She is known to walk around the area and was possibly seen on Royal Road in the area of the auto crushing business around 8:30.
Charleston County Sheriff's Office Air Support and K-9 deputies along with Berkeley County deputies are searching the area of Woodside and Royal Road for Ms. Dawson
Dawson previously lived on Lucky Road in Charleston and was found there around 1:30 p.m.
Detectives were told that Dawson had taken a CARTA Bus to the James Island area sometime around noon.
"Numerous individuals called in with information during the search and we are grateful for the calls and information," said CCSO spokesperson Major Jim Brady.
