CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, a deputy sheriff with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office tried to stop a white Volkswagen Jetta on Plowground Road on Johns Island.Deputies say the driver was believed to be a man involved in an incident earlier in the evening so they say they turned on their blue lights and siren.According to a spokesperson with the CCSO, the driver refused to stop and led the deputies on a high speed chase, forcing the deputies to use "stop sticks" to blow out the suspect's tires.Deputies say the driver kept going to Chisolm Road where the car finally came to a stop. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Jason Ray Wilson, fled on foot but was soon captured. {}The CCSO has charged Wilson with reckless driving, driving under suspension and failure to stop for a blue light.
