CCSO: Man in arm sling steals $24,000 in drugs from Walgreens

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) --{} Charleston County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Folly Road Walgreens Sunday night for reports of a robbery.

According to officials, the call came in just before 11 p.m.that a white male had gone to the pharmacy counter and demanded Oxycontin.

Deputies said the suspect was told by the pharmacists that he was being videotaped. Witnesses said the suspect "acknowledged and began reaching into an arm sling as if he had a weapon" but then never pulled one out.

Deputies report the suspect fled the store on foot with a bottle of 100 10mgs oxycontin pills, two bottles of 20 mg oxycontin pills (215 tablets), a partial bottle of 40 mg (40 pills), one bottle of 60 mg oxycontin pills (127 tablets) and three bottles of 5mg oxycodone (347 tablets).

Deputies list the worth of the drugs at $24,000.

He is described as a white male between 35-40 years old, 6' tall, weighing 240 pounds. He was last seen wearing brown or tan shorts, an orange shirt and a brown ball cap. He also had an arm sling on his right arm and white gauze bandages over his nose and his chin.
