RIDGELAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- The search for a missing woman from Charleston County took a negative turn in Jasper County on Monday. Officials say they have recovered the vehicle belonging to Julia Mudgett, 77, of Hollywood. A spokesperson for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office says the 2002 Hyundai Elantra was found near a boat landing on Tuten Landing Road in Ridgeland. The vehicle was towed back to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office where it will be processed as part of this investigation.The incident continues to be investigated as a missing persons case, however officials now confirm that foul play is suspected in Mudgett's disappearance. There are no suspects in custody at this time, according to a spokesperson for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is working with authorities in Beaufort, Bluffton, and Jasper Counties in a continued effort to locate the missing woman. Search efforts are planned to take place on Tuesday in Beaufort and Jasper Counties.Mudgett was first reported missing on Tuesday, May 6th. Officials say they found broken glass and blood at her home on Toogoodoo Road.
