CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston firefighters were called out to a boat fire Wednesday morning.
According to CFD officials, crews arrived at the Lockwood Drive City Marina around 11:45 a.m. to find a 36-foot sailboat on fire.
They were able to put the fire out in about 10 minutes using the marina's portable pumps.
According to our crew on the scene, damage was contained to the inside of the cabin cruiser, which belongs to a CFD firefighter.
Deputy Fire Marshal Capt. Ryan Kunitzer said there were no hazards or chemicals in the water and the boat did not sink.
The City of Charleston Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
