CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston Animal Society is back at max capacity yet again, and the agency is offering another special to get animals into new homes.
They are calling it "Summer Slam II." During the program, the animal society is offering free animals Wednesday July 25 through Sunday July 29.
"Every day we're striving to save animals' lives. We find that when we get into these positions of being overcrowded and having more animals than we can safely house and safely care for, that's when we decide to do these programs. So this is our way of saving lives," said Kay Hyman with the Charleston Animal Society.
Hyman says the animal society hopes waiving the fee will help to lessen the financial burden for families taking on a new mouth to feed in their homes.
All animals that leave the animal society are spayed, neutered, have a microchip and are up-to-date on all of their shots.
