Charleston Corps district getting new engineer

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A change of command ceremony is scheduled for the Charleston District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Lt. Col. John Litz is set tp become district engineer during a ceremony in Charleston on Thursday. Litz is coming to Charleston from Fort Benning, Ga.

Outgoing District Engineer Lt. Col. Ed. Chamberlayne is leaving after two years for an assignment at the Pentagon.

The Charleston District includes all of South Carolina, with the exception of the Savannah River Basin which is administered by the Savannah District.
