CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director Don Lundy has been invited to attend a meeting of national EMS leaders at the White House this week.
According to Charleston County officials, the meeting on Friday will give the National Security Council Staff at The White House information they need on EMS operations nationwide.
"It's important that we let our federal partners know the current status of EMS in the United States," said Lundy. "Having EMS leaders from all over the United States together to discuss operations only helps all of us to improve EMS for every patient, whether it's urban, rural or frontier".
Charleston County EMS was awarded the 2010 National EMS System of the Year.
