CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Most of those win the Lowcountry will be watching football and napping after dining on Turkey tomorrow.

But thousands of others will have another item on their to-do list on Thanksgiving.

The 35th Annual Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble will be held in downtown Charleston. Organizers say they are expecting up to 67,000 people to participate.

The Knights of Columbus hold the event each year to benefit area charities.

"I attribute (the turnout) to the people of Charleston and how giving they are," said Robert Willis, race director. "It is also a great family tradition with Charlestonians here."

Those wishing to participate can still register Thursday morning, but organizers say those people should plan on getting there early. The race starts at 9 a.m.
