CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Pride Week has come to the Peninsula. Monday marks the start of Charleston Pride Week that celebrates equality in the community.
For the first time ever, the Gay Pride Parade and Festival will be held in Downtown Charleston.
It's the fourth year for Charleston Pride Week. Before this year, most events were held in North Charleston.
On Saturday, the Gay Pride Parade will roll down the heart of the Historic District of Charleston -- starting on Ann Street and continuing down King Street to Broad and ending at Colonial Lake.
There are several events leading up to the parade. For a full list of Charleston Pride Week events click here.
