CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- With the food, the weather, the history, and the people, what's not to like about the holy city? Charleston has always been ranked among the best cities in the world and has gained that distinction again in 2014. Charleston ranks #2 in Conde' Nast Traveler's "Top 25 Cities in the World: Readers' Choice Awards 2014," rising three spots from last year's global ranking. The rankings were posted online Monday and list Charleston ahead of cities like Prague and Rome. The ranking were voted on by approximately 77,000 of Conde Nast's readers. According to officials at The Charleston Area Visitor's Bureau, Charleston was also voted #1 in the nation. "The people of Charleston are honored to once again be named Cond Nast Traveler's Readers Choice No. 1 Top U.S. City," Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. said in a press release Monday. "To be recognized for the fourth consecutive year is truly a testament to Charleston's vibrant culture, genuine hospitality and wonderful people, who make it such a special place to both live and visit."

Even though logic would dictate that if the #1 city in the world is in Italy, then 2nd ranked Charleston would hold the #1 spot for the United States,{} a "Top Cities in the U.S." list has not yet been released on the Conde Nast website. To see how the votes are tabulated, click here.
