WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A water main break meant people in one West Ashley neighborhood went without water for a few hours Tuesday night.
Officials with the Charleston Water System said crews shut off water around 8:30 p.m. to repair the 8-inch main break off Bees Ferry Road. As a result, the Hickory Hills subdivision went without water. There were about 150 home affected, CPW officials said.
Officials announced the repairs were complete around 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
After the outage, Charleston Water issued a boil advisory for the neighborhood. That advisory was lifted Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said the break happened around 3 p.m. when a contractor working on the road widening project hit the line.??
