Claim your unclaimed property: tonight in Summerville

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV)--You may be entitled to unclaimed property or cash, you did not even know you were missing.

The South Carolina Payback Program will be in Summerville Thursday.

State Treasurer Curtis Loftis will be setting up shop at the Red Pepper in Summerville, giving South Carolina and Lowcountry residents a chance to pick up their previously unclaimed property.

The Palmetto Payback is South Carolina's unclaimed property program and will{}be in Flowertown from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, Thursday

South Carolina is currently{}holding 1.5 million accounts totaling $300 million.{}

Unclaimed property can include utility deposits, dormant bank accounts, old life insurance policies, stock, and un-cashed payroll checks.

Staff can instantly check to see if you or any family and friends have any unclaimed property.

The Palmetto Payback services is free.{}

Last year, the Treasurer's Office returned nearly $13 million to rightful owners.{}
