Clemson presidential search committee to meet
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- The panel tasked with finding Clemson University's next president is set to meet.
The search committee is meeting on Monday at the Greenville offices of the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough law firm. Clemson says Board of Trustees Chairman David Wilkins will charge the panel, which will then go into executive session.
E. Smyth McKissick III of Greenville is chairing the committee. Other members include Leon J. "Bill" Hendrix of Kiawah Island, Ronald Lee of Aiken, Louis Lynn of Columbia, Joseph Swann of Greenville and Kim Wilkerson of Cayce.
President Jim Barker announced last week he plans to retire and become an architecture professor at the school. Barker says he will remain in office until a new president is chosen.
