Clyburn's car hit by DC Metro bus

WASHINGTON (WCIV) -- Rep. Jim Clyburn was in an accident Wednesday evening with a DC Metro bus.

According to Washington ABC affiliate WJLA, the bus was on its way to Maryland when it passed Clyburn's car, hitting the open driver's door.

The accident happened at 16th Street and Sumner Row in the northwest part of the city.

Officials in Clyburn's office said the Congressman was not injured in the accident.

A member of the Reuters news team happened to be on the bus at the time of the accident and tweeted a picture of the back of Clyburn's damaged Chevy HHR.
