COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A new community farmers market is coming to the North Columbia area.
The North Columbia Business Association on Thursday is hosting a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of "The Food Park."
Organizers hope the market will give people in North Columbia better access to fresh fruits, vegetables and plants. The grand opening on the grounds of the South Carolina Cornbread Festival includes face painting, a sampling of smoothies to try and a healthy cooking demonstration.
The market will be open every Thursday.
