Contract for DD2 superintendent extended through 2016

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- The contract for the superintendent of the Dorchester School District 2 has been extended through the 2016 school year, said Pat Raynor, the district's spokeswoman.

The news comes on the heels of Superintendent Joe Pye's high marks on an evaluation by the district board of trustees.

The boardletter stated, "We appreciate the leadership, dedication, commitment, loyaltyand energy you continue to give."

Pye is in his 14th year as superintendent and has worked in the district as an educator for more than 40 years.

Each board member met with Pye and discussed his job performance, progress and objectives..
