ALVIN, S.C. (WCIV) - The body found Wednesday night in Alvin has been identified as June Guerry, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.
Salisbury said Wednesday night he was "pretty confident" the body was June Guerry. An autopsy completed at MUSC Thursday confirmed that statement and ruled the death a homicide by gunshot wound.
Salisbury would not say how many times or where on the body Guerry was shot.
June Guerry, 22, and 18-year-old Dana Woods went missing Sunday night according to investigators. Berkeley County Sheriff's Office officials say Woods' body was found in the Francis Marion Forest Tuesday. The bodies were found approximately 10 miles from each other.
Investigators say there are currently no suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
