Corrections officer arrested by Georgetown deputies

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- A corrections officer in Georgetown County was arrested by sheriff's deputies this week after an investigation into her activities at the jail.

According to a release from the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, Kelvinia Davis was charged with furnishing prisoners with alcohol or drugs, furnishing prisoners with contraband and misconduct in office.

Investigators allege Davis was bringing banned materials into the detention center and giving it out to inmates.

Davis' bond was set at $15,000.
