Couple arrested for June armed robbery in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston couple was arrested this week and charged with a June 24 armed robbery in downtown Charleston.

According to police, 42-year-old Kenneth Campbell and 39-year-old Natasha Richardson have been charged with armed robbery. Police say Campbell stole a woman's purse and ran across a field to a waiting car on Spring Street.

Police said the robbery happened around 4 a.m. June 24, adding that the suspects used the victim's credit cards in North Charleston a short time after the robbery.

Campbell and Richardson are being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
