CPD arrest 2 for West Ashley burglaries

{}CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Two people have been arrested in connection with two burglaries that happened in West Ashley earlier this month. Charleston Police have charged 27-year-old Romel B. Chaplin and 25-year-old Katherine Eve Holliday.

Chaplin is charged with two counts of burglary in the second degree and three counts of felony credit card fraud. Holliday faces only one count of burglary in the second degree.

The two burglaries occurred between August 4 and August 7 on Jobee Drive and Parkwood Estates Drive in West Ashley. Police said Chaplin's fraud charges stem from the use of a credit card that was stolen during one of the burglaries.

Officials said the items stolen include a laptop, an iPhone, jewelry and two pocket knives.

According to detention center records, Chaplin was given a $50,000 bond. Holliday received a $25,000 bond.
