CPD arrest suspect for Johnson Street shooting

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston Police have arrested a man the believe is responsible for the July 1 shooting that happened downtown on Johnson Street. {}

CPD spokesperson Charles Francis said the shooting happened around 5:40 p.m. after an argument broke out between the victim and the suspect. The victim was taken to MUSC with a non-life threatening injury.{}{}

Francis said 28-year-old Tory Donyell Collins is charged with assault and battery of a high an aggravated nature and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
