CPD: Body found under city marina dock

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Multiple agencies responded Friday morning to reports of a body found under a dock at the Charleston City Marina.The coroner has identified the deceased as 63-year-old Edward Brennan from Connecticut. His cause of death is still pending.Marina employees tell ABC News 4 a dock worker found the body around 9 a.m. Friday. It was in the water near a boat slip."Well I looked out the window, then I came downstairs a little bit later to see what was going on," explained Bambi Singletary, a waitress at Marina Variety Store Restaurant.She, her co-workers, and customers saw a commotion outside."Here at work when we just saw a bunch of people: fire, police, ambulance people heading down the dock. They gathered around a boat down there, put up a tent and later on we heard what had happened," said Singletary.They heard someone found a body floating in the water not far from the marina's popular megadock. City police, fire, and county volunteer rescue squad members spent a few hours on the dock, and under the water looking for clues. They eventually recovered the unknown person, while worried onlookers wondered about the victim."Oh it's, it's scary. It's a scary thought to think about something like that," said Singletary.At this point, Charleston Police aren't releasing any details about their investigation.
