CPD: Driver in hit-and-run left piece of bumper behind


CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston police responded to a hit and run in West Ashley early Sunday morning.

According to the police report, the accident happened around 1 a.m. on St. Andrews Blvd. and Colony Drive.

Officers said they found the 29-year-old victim unconscious after he was struck riding his bicycle in the bicycle lane.

According to the report, the driver of the vehicle left behind pieces of a green, plastic fender and black plastic bumper attachment. Police later said the part belongs to a 2003-2007 4-door charcoal grey Honda Accord.

Police searched the area for a vehicle in that color but did not find the suspect. They say the car was damaged on its front passenger side panel.
