Charleston police ID suspect in fatal downtown stabbing
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A suspect has been identified in the fatal downtown Charleston stabbing that happened Wednesday morning.
According to police, Terrell Smith is wanted on charges of murder, attempted murder, first-degree burglary and possession of a deadly weapon.
Police say the incident occurred at a home on Congress Street around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim was taken to Medical University Hospital where he later died. He was identified by the coroner as 18-year-old Brandon Bennett from Charleston.
Detectives said shortly after the killing that the suspect and victim knew each other. Police did not release information on how they are connected Friday.
