CPD: Murder suspect, out on bond, arrested again for armed robbery

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston man, who was out on bond for an August 2010, homicide on Norman Street, was arrested Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Task Force for an August 30 armed robbery on Ashley Hall Road. Darnell Seagers, 22, is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

According to Charleston City police, the robbery happened around 8:45 p.m. on Ashley Hall Road. The victim told police he was approached by a man armed with a handgun. Police say the suspect, Darnell Seagers, assaulted the victim and robbed him of his money, cell phone and cigarettes.{}

Seagers was out on bond for the August 28, 2010, homicide of Travis Antwan Anderson, who was shot and killed in the area of 42 Norman St.{}{}

The investigation into the armed robbery is ongoing.
