      Crash causes power outage in North Charleston

      NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Over 2,400 SCE&G customers were without power after dispatchers say a car hit a power pole in the area of Azalea Drive in North Charleston early Thursday.

      Dispatchers say roads in the area of Azalea Drive and Bonds Avenue were closed due to downed power lines.

      SCE&G reports on its website that four different incidents caused 2,433 customers to be without power.

      Police and power crews responded the scene.
