SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Part of a road has been closed as crews work to put out a fire at a packaging plant in Spartanburg County.
Emergency Management spokesman Doug Bryson says the fire at Platronics Seals started at about 12:15 a.m. Monday.
No injuries have been reported, and officials say there were no people in the building when the fire started. But Bryson says part of the building is near collapse, so firefighters have to stay outside.
Officials with the Department of Health and Environmental Control are at the site to monitor water for any chemical runoff.
Platronics Seals makes industrial packaging for automotive and aerospace businesses. The company's website says it set up the plant in 2008.
