CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A jet skier, out enjoying the warm weather Sunday, got bogged down in mud and had to be rescued.
According to a spokesperson with the St. Johns Fire and Rescue Department, a jet skier got stranded in the mud at Wadmalaw Sound. Crews from St. Johns and the Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded around 5 p.m.
Luckily, the jet skier had his cell phone so his location was easily found. He wasn't, however, accessible by boat and rescuers had to use a rescue mat to get him out of the mud.
The jet skier wasn't injured. The jet ski was left at the location for retrieval at high tide.
