Crisis Ministries: Two died homeless in Charleston this year
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Crisis Ministries will be holding a memorial Thursday to honor two people who died homeless in 2013.
The candlelight memorial will be held in Marion Square at the corner of Meeting and Calhoun streets. The service starts at 5:30 p.m.
Live music will be performed by the choir of the Unitarian Church and Choral Arts Experience.
In the announcement for the memorial, officials released the names of the two people they say died homeless in Charleston this year: 54-year-old Joyce Brook and 52-year-old Mikell Felder.
Officials said Crisis Ministries holds the annual memorial to serve as a reminder that homelessness is a "life or death issue."
