The British are coming! Cruise liner making call in Charleston
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP/WCIV) - You may be hearing a lot more British accents around the peninsula Thursday. A cruise liner making a 35-night long cruise from England to the Caribbean and Mexico is stopping in Charleston.
P&O Cruises' Oriana docks in Charleston on Thursday afternoon. The ship with about 1,800 passengers will stay overnight before leaving late Friday.
The Oriana, an adults only ship, left Southampton, England, on Feb. 11. It sailed to the Caribbean and Mexico before heading to New Orleans. It then sailed around the Florida peninsula with various stops.
The Charleston stop is the ship's last in North America before it heads back across the Atlantic to Portugal.
According to the South Carolina Ports Authority, there are no street closings associated with this visit.
P&O Cruises is a Carnival Group brand.
