Cruise ship making port call in Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A cruise ship making a journey from New York to the Dominican Republican is making a port call in Charleston.

The Aida Aura stops in Charleston on Thursday for a daylong visit.

The 1,300-passenger ship is on a 15-day cruise to the Dominican Republic.

Charleston's cruise industry has grown in recent years.

Charleston is the home port for the Carnival Fantasy.
