SUMMERVILLE,S.C. (WCIV) - A school bus and a log truck collided this morning, yielding some stunning results - a log sticking out of the side of the vehicle.
Summerville Police say the two trucks hit around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday morning at the intersection of Central Avenue and Parsons Road.
According to police, a Head Start bus carrying Dorchester District II students was heading north on Central Ave, when the 18-wheeler carrying logs turned into the roadway.
One of the tree punctured the side of the bus and went through to the other side.
Everyone on the bus, including the driver, assistant and three students were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Summerville Police officials say the bus driver is 20-year-old Dorothy Chiasson of Ladson, and the driver of the log truck is 69-year-old James Roberts of Walterboro.
Roberts has been charged with taking an improper turn, according to Jon Rogers with the Summerville Police Department.
