      Deputies, CCU students help rescue distressed boaters in Murrells Inlet

      MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WCIV) -- A pair of boaters in distress were rescued by Georgetown County deputies, duck hunters and some Coastal Carolina University students.

      According to deputies, the group of CCU students and a trio of duck hunters called police and helped the boaters to land. Deputies and officials from the state Department of Natural Resources met at the southern point of Garden City to help the victims.{}

      The accident happened near the jetties at Murrells Inlet, officials said.{}

      DNR is handling the investigation.{}
