Deputies charge McClellanville man with attempted murder

MCCLELLANVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County Sheriff's deputies have charged a McClellanville man with the shooting of another man.

The suspect, 25-year-old Herman White, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime for his alleged part in a March 19 shooting.

Deputies said the victim and the victim's brother told officers they were in a verbal altercation with White that escalated to a shooting. The victim was able to identify White and told deputies which direction he ran from the area.

The victim was airlifted to Medical University Hospital to be treated for his wounds. An incident report shows the man was shot in his left{}leg.

According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, White turn himself in to deputies.

In bond court on Thursday, White's bond was set at $300,000.
