1 shot at Ladson club; Duo charged on alcohol violations
LADSON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man was wounded early Wednesday morning at a Ladson night club. Now the club's owner and doorman have been arrested on unrelated alcohol charges.
According to Charleston County deputies, officers found a man had been wounded in a shooting at The Game Room around 3:15 a.m. Deputies said the man had been shot once in the stomach.
A Charleston County Sheriff's Office spokesman said a vehicle in the parking lot also had several bullet holes in it. Shell casings were found near the entrance to the club, officials said.
During the investigation, deputies arrested Dubois D Scott and Chris L Harris and charged them with unlawful storage of alcohol or liquor in a business. Officers found bottles of liquor inside the club, which is illegal since the club does not have a license to sell alcohol.
Deputies said Harris owns the club and Scott is the doorman. Both men were placed in the Al Cannon Detention Center. A bond hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, officials said.
So far, there are no suspects or a motive for the shooting but according to an incident report, Scott told deputies that about 8-9 men had come to the door to ask how much it cost to get in. That's when a group of about 10 other men came to the front of the club and got into an argument with the first group of men and several shots were fired.
This isn't the first time bullets flew at the Game Room. On Dec. 20 several people were injured when a fight broke out that ended with shots being fired both inside and outside the club.
