Deputies say horse on Johns Island was likely shot

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A horse found dead Sept. 26 on Johns Island was likely shot, according to investigators.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office made the announcement in a news release Wednesday.

"Anyone having seen any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area around surrounding Brownswood Road between the suspected incident times of September 26th between 2:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. is asked to contact the Charleston County Sheriff's Office at 843-202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111," said Maj. Jim Brady of the sheriff's office.
