Deputies arrest suspect in fatal Orangeburg shooting
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV) - Deputies in Orangeburg County say a man wanted for shooting and killing another man Sunday morning surrendered Monday evening.
According to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, officers were called to the Orangeburg Regional Medical Center shortly after midnight Sunday after a man showed up with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Deputies learned the man and a friend went to meet another man at a Belleville Road home. As the two men were leaving, deputies say Shagura Ramon Mack ran to their call and began firing shots at them.
One of the shots hit the victim. He later died.
The Orangeburg County Coroner's Office identified the man as 29-year-old Jermaine Holloway.
"It is imperative that we send a clear and decisive message to criminals in this county. We will utilize an abundance of resources to bring the thugs and hoodlums disturbing our county and neighborhoods to justice," Ravenell said.
