HOLLYWOOD, S.C. -- Authorities have found an 81-year-old Alzheimer's patient who had been reported missing.
A spokesperson for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office says Benjamin Jenkins was found around 7 a.m. on a porch at a residence on Trucklands Lane in Hollywood.
Jenkins was taken to St. Francis hospital for a health check.
CCSo deputies also fitted him with a Project Lifesaver alert Bracelet that is available to Charleston County residents who have been diagnosed with dementia type illnesses like Alzheimer's, Autism, and Down's Syndrome.
Jenkins walked away from his home on Bock Road in Hollywood early Thursday.
He is known to walk in the area along several paths leading to Storage Road.
