North Charleston police: Man hit with gun, no shots fired

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police on Wednesday afternoon are responding to reports of a shooting at a North Charleston apartment complex.{}

North Charleston police later said no shots were fired.

Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch officials confirmed that there was a reported shooting at the Pine Crest Apartments on McMillan Avenue.

North Charleston police said several men were standing outside of a building on Pine Forest Drive when two men approached, started a fight and one of the men hit someone with the butt of a gun. The suspects then ran from the area.{}

The first suspect is described as a black man with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He is in his mis-20s, about 5-feet 6-inches tall, and carrying a chrome handgun.{}

The second suspect was a teenaged black man about the same height as the first man with a slim build. He has four gold teeth and is believed to be carrying a gun.
