Domesticated mountain lion missing in Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a domesticated, declawed mountain lion is missing from a pet store in Aiken.

Police told local media outlets that the owner of Aquarium Pets discovered the mountain lion was loose Sunday morning.

Authorities say the black mountain lion weighs about 100 pounds and was wearing a dog harness when it was last seen.

Police say anyone who sees the mountain lion should not approach it and call 911 immediately.

Wildlife officers from the state Department of Natural Resources are helping look for the missing animal.
