Dorchester coroner IDs man shot to death in North Charleston
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Dorchester County Coroner's Office identified a man shot to death in North Charleston on July 4.
According to the coroner, the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on Cedar Grove Drive.
The victim was identified as 43-year-old Anthony Eugene, of Stall Road. There was no further information in the coroner's report other than to say Eugene was shot by someone.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office released more information on Monday. According to the report, deputies responded to a fight at the location around 10:30 p.m. nand were told that shots had been fired.
Deputies found the gunshot victim inside the duplex along with the shooting suspect. They report a "tall black male with dreads and blood soaked clothing exited the front door of the residence."
The suspect, 30-year-old Antwan Persay Black, was arrested on the scene and a gun was confiscated inside the home. He is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
