Dorchester coroner: Man shot girlfriend, then killed himself

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Ladson man tried to shoot his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself Saturday morning.According to Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet, 25-year-old Douglas Moses died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a drunken argument with his girlfriend. Nisbet said the Moses shot at his girlfriend and then shot and killed himself.{}Dorchester County deputies said they were called to the Mickler Drive home around 2 a.m. Saturday after the girlfriend ran to a neighbor's home to call 911. She reportedly told dispatchers that she had been shot by her boyfriend.{}When deputies arrived and secured the home, they found Moses' body.An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday, Nisbet said.{}Moses' girlfriend was taken to Medical University Hospital for treatment. The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the matter.
