Dorchester County approves $1.7 million for debris removal
DORCHESTER, S.C. (WCIV) -- Dorchester County Council has given the green light for an additional $1.7 million to go towards cleaning up debris from this winter's ice storms.
The increase was approved at a special meeting held Friday morning.
According to Chairman Bill Hearn, the money will come from the county reserve fund and the county will ask for 80 percent reimbursement through FEMA's assistance program.
Last month, the council approved $800,000.
